Physical description:

Eyes: Completely black; no white in them at all.
(Note: When Silverblade is in control, the eyes are pure silver.)
(Note: His left eye was hit by a horrible attack and now no longer works.)

Hair: Silver, falling halfway down Nighthand’s back, not tied back but never seems to get in the way. Previously it was black, falling to his waist, tied back with a red leather band. The band was lost and the color was changed due to contact with the Banshaku, the living water that deletes what it touches. That water bleached his hair and cut it.

Height: 6'5"

Look: Black shoes, black, simple casual slacks. A thicker, hand span at least, black leather belt with golden accents. A shirt, black with silver and gold accents. A new cloak, a heavy material, promising to be comfortable. The outside is black, with gold and silver markings near the edge, forming an odd symbol. The interior is a blue-silver fabric that shifted colors when the light struck it at different angles.

Previous: White-silver pants with black shoes, a silver sleeveless shirt with silver buttons and red scrollwork, a gold and black circular pendant hanging outside shirt. Used to wear a cape, but it was lost for the same reason his hair was altered.

Personality: Nighthand was once a normal player of The World. His world was changed forever, though, when he was infected with Twilight. Now he is a fractured man, different personalities competing for dominance. Sometimes he craves power, and will stop at nothing to get that power for himself. Sometimes he’s completely obsessed with whatever is on his mind, be it power, darkness, or Arra. Sometimes he is content, even happy, with his surroundings. Silverblade is sort of a moderator of this all. Where Nighthand is the more brazen emotions, the rash, impulsive, manic-depressive side, Silverblade is the calm and collected, even-tempered, and thoughtful side.

Extras: Often, Nighthand has in his inventory a small flute, that he plays when he has nothing to do. He has had several adventures in the world unlike anything most people would call normal. He went to a special field called the Soul Shrine, as well as meeting a strange girl there. Also, he has met a waste-data disposal system, and a dozen AIs, one of each class, male and female. All of them wish to help Nighthand, and for a while he completely shunned them, trying his best to force them away from him. With the coming of Shard, the Cerberus of Shadows, he finall accepted them all back into himself. For a time he lusted after Asgard's sword of darkness, hoping to gain its power for himself, and he was on the verge of attacking his own party to get it, but he was restrained. Fortunately, with the arrival of Shard and the return of the other entities, his mind has settled somewhat. Nighthand was later brought to another odd field, where he was imprisoned by a hacker and forced to have a second personality. In actuality, the personality was an AI programmed into Nighthand's data, physically connected. As such he has access to all the memories Nighthand has since his arrival in The World. This personality, the Silverblade, has powers different from Nighthand’s, and together, they are a perfect compliment. Arra, keeper of the Soul Shrine, is frozen, Verona has taken her place. Nighthand and the Silverblade still have a bit to work out, but they have come to a tentative truce. Xenobia hacked into his data as well, causing some of his powers to become unstable.

Note: Shard is currently trapped within the fearsome and torturous depths of the Nightblade, and as such is unavailable for participation with Nighthand in quests. He is presumed dead.

Comments: Shard is a Cerberus of Shadows, the last of a breed of monsters from a previous version of the game. These monsters were too powerful for the changes made, but the Admin's decide to leave them, just not to let them respawn. However, when each was killed, it's power and intellect was divided among the others. Being the last, Shard has the power of the entire race, as well as the intelligence collected from the ages. Shard is very loyal to Nighthand, because he senses the presence of a desperate drive to save The World with the heavyblade. This drive is one that could help end the problems of The World.

Powers of Interest

This ability is shared by both Nighthand and his counterpart Silverblade. While a relativly minor ability, it is still quite powerful in it's application. This ability allows the user to shift his stat points between strength and speed. This allows him to be extremely powerful but nearly immobile, or extremely fast but weaker than a level 1 wavemaster. The ability can be used at will and takes very little time to make this shift, but it isn't instant. Additionally, in a heightened speed state, reaction time is decreased so much as to almost be as if time slows down for the user. As such, reactions are dulled in the heightened strength form. This means that, though he can see everything as though perceptions are normal, he isn't able to respond as quickly.

This is technically a hacked addition to Nighthand's character, though in reality Silverblade is almost a completely seperate entity in and of itself. Silverblade is a seperate consciousness inside Nighthand's head, has access to all his memories (at least those since being stuck in the game, the rest are unknown whether he can access them or not.) He has his own "versions" of Nighthand's hacks, that he can access while Nighthand cannot. The downside to this is, he cannot access certian "Nighthand only" powers. Silverblade and Nighthand have equal control over the body, though generally Silverblade will lie quiescent unless called upon. This doesn't stop his banter, however. When Silverblade is in control of the body, the eyes turn silver, as opposed to the normal black of Nighthand's control.

This power, while resembling a weapon, is also technically a hack. The Nightblade is a fearsome and powerful heavyblade, made purely out of darkness energy. It's attacks, however, are non-elemental, and thus are not stopped by darkness tolerant enemies. The blade is easily charged with any element, making it's attacks elementally charged. It's level is equal to that of Nighthand. It can only be "summoned" by the use of a special spell, in assistance with a darkness scroll. The appearance of the blade is somewhat unique. It is long, as long as a normal heavyblade if not longer. Thin and slightly curved, it's faceted appearance is never the same twice. Attached and retractable into the pommel is a long whip.

The Blade has it's own set of skills, namely, Maj Lei, Skill Drain, and Nightblade Storm. Maj Lei is Curse. Nightblade Storm is a skill very much like the Revolver attack of the Blademaster. However, the range is longer due to the blade's length, and the whip adds extra hits. This is also chargable with various elements at Nighthand's convenience. Aditionally, only Nighthand is allowed to use this weapon.

An added effect is that the Nightblade is constantly absorbing little amounts of darkness energy around the area. As such all darkness attacks except it's own are weakened, be they ally or enemy. This results in a boosted darkness defense of everyone, friend or foe.

Nighthand can alter single spells and do such things as hold them, increasing the 'pressure' behind the spell, thus making it more powerful. He can change the spell's target. He can alter the spell's energy to make it cause no damage, only nice-looking effects. He can merge multiple mono-element spells into a single more powerful spell. He can spilt a single spell into two spells, less powerful. He can also change a spell from one spellform (don, kruz, etc) to another.

Due to an intervention by Xenobia, this hack is unstable, and may or may not have the desired effect. Note: The error causing instability was fixed, and the power is now completely under his command once again.

This is Silverblade's complimentary power to Nighthand's spell control. It changed from Elemental Merge for an unknown reason. No longer does Silverblade merge elements to form special dual-elemental combinations. Now, he is able to use the opposing element, in the form of a spell or scroll, to cancel a spell cast of equal level and opposite element. In other words, he can cast Ani Don to cancel off a Rai Don, or a Rue Rom to cancel a Vak Kruz.

This is an odd, and small, power of Nighthand's. It's also very simple. Tweaks in his data make deleting him much harder; a normal deletion move will instead transport him to nearest Repository, where he is eventually able to escape and return to the fight. This isn't without it's downfalls, of course. Sufficient deletion still can delete him, and being deleted isn't a fun experience. There can be permanent mental damage, physical damage, loss of items, experience, and even levels. And, there's always the chance that he won't recover, or won't make it out of the Repository. Best not to be deleted, even with this safeguard.

Nighthand, and/or Silverblade, can open the eye that is perpetually closed from the scar. Inside is a field of space, like a night sky, but with a mere six stars. These stars each glow the color of one of the elements. Using this power, the wielder can see the magical field with greater detail and accuracy than before. Essentially, it increases the control of Spell Control and Elemental Cancel. Functionally, it adds a +1 to the roll.
